Portfolio for the European Business Baccalaureate Diploma – EBBD

The European Baccalaureate Diploma – EBBD allows students who are striving for a general higher education entrance qualification at a vocational secondary school of Economics or who have already achieved such a qualification to obtain additional competencies in the areas of EconomicsEurope and Mobility. These competences form a standard harmonised throughout Europe and are certified as European Business Baccalaureate Diploma – EBBD. This certificate is therefore a label of excellence based on the national/regional curricula, but goes beyond these. The EBBD curriculum defines a graduate’s profile, which can be reached in the various national education systems in different ways.

The EBBD should develop in the uniting Europe, in particular at the professional schools/vocational colleges, to a standard supporting the mobility of graduates and increasing their labour market opportunities. At the same time the economy-related education is upgraded and thus the motivation to learn economy-related skills in particular is encouraged. Thus the transparency of this qualification is increased at a European level. In consequence, the introduction of the European Business Baccalaureate Diploma – EBBD represents an added value for the graduates, the participating educational organizations and for the economy. In addition, it contributes to the development of the European area of education.





















The softskills are integrated with the other learning areas and they take into account the future need for working life. The profile describes a successful EBBD-graduate after having reached  the qualifications of EBBD-standards. Thus, the profile defines the goal or perspective of application of the qualification of an EBBD-Learner (“outcome-orientation”).The learning areas Business CompetenceCompetence in International Business Fields and European Competence describe competences in different areas seen as necessary to develop the graduate profile. The learning areas therefore describe one way, which leads to the graduate profile and demonstrate hints for implementing EBBD. The technical requirements which represent conditions for meeting EBBD-standards are  Foreign Language Competence, CLILWork Placement Abroad and Simulations, Projects together with the general university entrance qualification.
